Ink and print flags, glaze pots
WEEK OF MARCH 17TH:
Pigment transfer of reds and blues with water and crepe paper on white paper for flag printmaking. We will make the stars and stripes design on styrofoam for those who did not do that last week.
WEEK OF MARCH 10TH:
Printmaking - US flag/Statue of Liberty - Citizenship
WEEK OF MARCH 3RD:
Clay - pebble pots
WEEK OF FEBRUARY 24TH:
Introduce students to William Kooning
Using black crayon, students will create a pattern for a stained glass window. Using one base color from color wheel, analogous colors and white paints will be mixed to create as many monochromatic colors as possible.

FEBRUARY 3RD:


CHINESE NEW YEAR DRAGON:
Student create an organic line with a piece of yarn and glue it on paper.
Contour lines are drawn to form dragon's body. Triangles added for tail and head. Students create a pattern for their body and add legs, feet, eyes ears, nostrils. Festive details added for the background.

Brainstorm things that are YELLOW, BLUE, RED & orange, purple, green
PLAY PICTIONARY WITH A PARTNER using the color pen of the color of the object you are drawing.

They will observe his "Castle and Sun" painting and discuss line and geometric shapes.
Students will create their own neighborhoods using squares and triangles with a sun in the sky.
